- We are a family focussed service and endeavour to keep our cost as affordable as possible.

- Medicare and Private Health Rebates may apply to further reduce final cost.
Fees & Rebates
- Comprehensive weekly social and emotional skills full program fee $880. This fee includes 9 Clinical Psychology Sessions (2 individual sessions & 6 weekly 90-minute group sessions & parent information video, and is required in 2 separate payments of $155 +$725).
- Payment 1 (Initial appointment fee): A $155 fee is required upon allocation of an appointment to be considered for an upcoming program. This fee covers the cost for the initial appointment, regardless of whether your child proceeds with the program and is only refundable in the unlikely event that the program does not occur. .
- Payment 2 (Group sessions & follow-up appointment): The remaining $725 balance of the program fee is payable after confirmation of your child’s place following the initial appointment to secure their place.
- Fees may be rebatable via Medicare or Private Health Funds.
- Medicare Rebate of $471 may apply through the ‘Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative’ if assessed eligible via a GP, private paediatrician or psychiatrist. The full rebate applies for referrals acquired on or prior to the initial appointment date. Payments are required upfront, with a $409 total out of pocket expense. If seeking a referral via your GP, a ‘GP Mental Health Treatment Plan’ must be completed (please book a double appointment). If seeking a referral via a private paediatrician or psychiatrist the referral may be in the form of a letter or note.To be eligible to claim the Medicare rebate, we require you to ensure you have a valid referral which includes details specified in the link attached below, including a request for an initial course of treatment, which for the purposes of the Life Skills program, includes a referral up to 6 individual AND 6 group allied mental health sessions. We recommend providing a copy to your referring doctor to ensure the referral is valid for Medicare claiming purposes. (Please note that the program utlisies 2 individual and 6 group sessions. For children already seeing another psychologist, please note the Better Access Initiative can allow up to 10 individual AND 10 group sessions per year).
- Private health funds may offer rebates for clinical psychology services depending on your specific cover. (Health Fund codes Y100 Individual assessment x 1, Y400 Group Treatment x 6, Y200 Individual session x 1)
- Referrals are not required for private health rebates or NDIS purposes.
- Itemised Medicare or private health receipts will be issued at session 6 and at the follow-up session. The reason for this is that the invoice / receipt can only be processed once your child has attended the sessions noted on the receipt. You can submit a Medicare online claim using either your Medicare online account through myGov or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.
- Payments can be made by internet transfer (Acc Name: Life Skills For Kids; BSB: 036082; Account No: 388102; please record your surname as reference) or credit card with Halaxy's secure database.
- Cancellation policy - Due to limited group places the following applies: * Please advise asap and no later than 48 hours if you are unable to attend the initial appointment; *Non-attendance at the initial appointment or cancellation within less than 48 hours fee is $155; *Attendance at the initial appointment only without proceeding with the program $155; * Once your child’s place is confirmed, withdrawal of your child less than 5 days prior to the first group session $880 (full fees apply).
